Included was the undertaking of extensive asbestos & mold remediation, complete gutting and rebuilding of the existing school, the addition of a 15-meter long skylight, installation of 3 new teacherage houses, a new gymnasium and a fully equipped wood working shop. The unique climate conditions drove the design to include Greenland foundations installed on the permafrost as well as a building envelope to control heat loss and capture solar gain during the long days of summer.
